ABOUT US

Kostia Constantin Laan

Kostia, French designer born in 1974.

He followed a classic path in Paris and at the age of 20, pursued a Bachelor of Arts to study in the State of New York, at Hamilton College.

After a few years in the international economic field, he chose to work with his hands and changed his professional career to express his creativity.

Always drawn to working with materials, he decided to train as a cabinetmaker, learning how to sculpt wood, bronze, brass and lacquers.

In 2008, he experimented and collaborated alongside artisans, learning how to master the art of sketching and gestures.

In 2012, he opened his own workshop in the historical area of the Cité de la Roquette, in Paris. Initially working alone, he later built a team of 6 highly qualified people.

The workshop, that resembles to a curiosity cabinet, enables the team to keep control over the whole creative process, from the drawings to the making of the artwork.

The materials, both unrefined and sophisticated merge into modern and contemporary pieces.
